TLDR:
I’m Hannah—a creative soul with a passion for photography, writing, and connecting with others through art & design. This site is where I share my creative journey and what inspires me—from busy city streets to low suburbs to quiet nature. Let’s explore the world together, one photo at a time.
How It Started:
My love for photography began in elementary school with a disposable camera... I would bring it on school field trips, and take random pictures around the house. The passion faded after middle school.
How It Grew:
In 2021, I rediscovered photography while navigating a difficult time.. I began a healing journey which led me back to my roots of photography. I bought a used Fuji Film XF10. I was obsessed for the first few months. It brought me back to the good old days of elementary school; this time now in my 20s and yearning to understand the basics and mechanisms, playing with the different settings, and just getting ~artsy~ with it.
Months passed and I was losing steam, but things changed when I connected with a group of photographers through Twitter and Instagram. This group ignited a fire in me to keep going: seeing how they take pictures and asking them questions. They helped explain the very basics of the trade like ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed. Honestly, it took me at least a year to completely understand these 3 seemingly basic concepts.
There were major ebbs and flows, periods where I would post a lot online and have creativity just flowing through me, and times where I would take at least a month's break. it nagged at me that I wasn't consistent, but I wanted to keep going. For my own sake and no one else's; for the fun of it. Because I love playing around in Adobe Creative Cloud and doing whatever I thought was cool. I tried not to let the pressure of posting, the likes on my photos (or the lack of it), stop me.
Where I'm At Now:
Today, I primarily shoot with a Nikon D3500. I will still use my Fuji Film, or even my iPhone 11 if I can't carry either to some places. Whenever the mood strikes, I take my camera out for a walk and start shooting whatever catches my eye.
What Inspires Me:
I try to look for the smaller details that are missed in the day to day; looking at things from a different perspective (literally in some cases). A few character traits hold great influence on my photography vision as well: my Persian background, meditation, reading, cooking, music lyrics, walks in nature and around city streets, and traveling.
